The economy is crumbling in the good 'ole U.S. of A. Several banks have had to declare bankruptcy and people are having to drive to different locations in different cities and states in order to take out their cash. Up to $100,000 of their money is insured, but anything above that mark is pretty much gone. They will only receive 50cents per $1 they have over $100,000. Thankfully, I don't think too many American citizens have that much in their accounts. There have been too many foreclosures and job loss in the States for any one to still have over $100,000 let alone HALF of that amount.
I've needed to get away from Twilight a bit. It turned into a bit of a drug. I've shared the books with a friend to get them hooked on it. Someone to share my obsession with me. The two of us will be going to Chapters at midnight on Friday August 1st, 2008 in order to buy the newest book as quickly as possible. This way, I will still be able to finish reading it on the 2nd, and still be able to study for all my exams. I've decided there is no way for me to be able to wait until after exams to read it. It just is not feasible.
Off to lunch today with some friends. I've been keeping a fairly good balance of socializing, school, work and reading. If I have time today, I hope I can get at least half way through The Host or maybe continue with You are SO not invited to my Bat Mitzvah. I just need something to get me off of Twilight for the time being. I went by my friends house yesterday to drop off Book #2 and #3. I told them that they wouldn't be able to read any other book but the continuation of Twilight and I was right. They found that as well. They tried to read something else, but they couldn't. I am going through withdrawals currently. Weird, I don't think I've ever been affected by a book so much.
Yesterday, I went to see Journey to the Centre of the Earth - complete with 3D glasses. The movie pleasantly surprised me. It was funny and interesting. And definately worth watching with the Real 3D. Without it, then don't bother. But it's worth watching with it! Brendan Fraser is funny. The movie reminded me that he plays pretty well in the comedic role. I will be waiting to see him in the newest Mummy movie.
