Fun filled weekend

Friday...
After my class, I went to see Mamma Mia! I liked it, but I like musicals. It wasn't some amazing movie that everyone needs to run out and see now, but it was funny and entertaining. Meryl Streep was great - but that's a given. She's great in everything she does. Amanda Seyfried was great as well, but I kept picturing her walking around drunk a la Lilly Kane from Veronica Mars. (the last character I saw her play) The only person who I did not enjoy as much would be Pierce Brosnan. It's not that he was bad. It's just that his voice is interesting. Maybe I'm just not used to 007 opening his mouth and hearing him sing.

Saturday...
Well this day wasn't exactly as fun filled. Some major cleaning needed to be done. And I quickly re-read The Host.

Sunday...
Finished my re-reading. Stopped by work to pick up a top for a job interview. And went shoe shopping. Sterling Shoes was having too awesome of a sale for me to pass up. I bought 3 pairs of shoes. They are all quite nice. I need to buy at least two more.

Monday...
In the morning, I headed out for my job interview. It went well. I blanked on a fairly easy question but other than that, I thought it was quite good. Afterwards, I picked up a friend and met another friend at the theatre and the three of us went to go watch The Dark Knight. I was very excited to finally see this movie. And it really did not disappoint me. It was quite long though. *SPOILER AHEAD* And they fit two villians into the one movie. It seemed like it was in two parts, the movie could have been two separate movies. Heath Ledger played the Joker creepily, which is the point. He was really amazing. I don't know if it was as great as everyone is making it out to be with the talk of a posthumous Oscar, but nevertheless he was great. After the long movie, we had worked up an appetite so we had a 4th friend meet us at my favourite place and we had lunch and dessert. When I got home, I started reading another book. I don't want to sound like too much of a bookworm, or someone with no life, but there is NOTHING on TV these days, except for Big Brother. The only thing there is to do is read. And I'm happy I'm finally getting some time to do it. So since I've read the first three books of Jacqueline Carey's Kushiel Series, I've decided to continue one with book 4. Originally I sat down yesterday and started reading Kushiel's Justice. Then about 50 pages in, I was noticing that I must've missed something. Then I realized Kushiel's Scion was actually book 4 so I read that. The thing about Carey's book is they are all so long, roughly 900-1000 pages each. But I welcome a nice long read right now, since I'm still having a hard time getting Twilight out of my system and moving on.

The upcoming weeks look to be very busy and interesting. Lots of school work to be done, lots of finals to study for, a job to still find. Next month I'm seeing Cirque du Soleil Saltimbanco, so I'm excited for that. I have a 45th wedding anniversary to attend and an annual BBQ/picnic that my best friend is throwing - the exciting thing about that is she is home for a week from Korea. I've missed her! Tonight it's off to a TFC game vs Montreal Impact with my dad - a father's day gift. Should be good. Apparently, TFC has hired some awesome chefs to make the food at the games so I think I will sample a few of them tonight. I especially want to try Ye Olde Chip Butty - fresh cut fries between buttered bread. All I know is that tonight I'm in carb heaven!
